Kelly has been a godsend for us! When we decided to bring a new puppy into our busy household with four kids and one excitable adult dog, we knew we needed the right kind of help. We knew right away that Kelly was a great fit because she was attentive, easygoing, flexible… and patient. Our adult dog had adopted a number of bad behaviors over the years, like barking, jumping, and counter-surfing. We wanted to end these behaviors and prevent our puppy from learning the same, while also teaching her some manners. Kelly truly understood our family dynamic and our needs, and gave us customized solutions to address our dogs’ behaviors. She not only taught us the techniques to train both of our dogs, but also used her knowledge of canine behavior to help us understand why our dogs behaved in certain ways. Kelly Barrett has been training my puppy mainly and she is assisting me with my 2 other dogs on a regular basis. I have had several other trainers before in previous years with a lot of experience and Kelly is by far the best trainer hands down. She is so enthusiastic, helpful, friendly and genuinely cares about the outcome of your pups training. She has helped immensely with many issues of training a large breed puppy and I can’t believe how well my puppy is doing/responding. She always shows up with a smile, ready to tackle the next issue/training step and is always sending videos of what was covered and also is giving me handouts to what she went over during the session. She is so passionate about dog training and their behavior. She is so accommodating and trustworthy as she does a lot of training when I’m not home or when I’m home part of the time. She is able to go in and out of my house and securely lock everything up and make sure my pups are fed or have water if needed. She also is amazing when I have boarded my puppy at her house, which she has an amazingly large and securely fenced in yard. If you are lucky enough to hire her to work with your K-9 you will be so happy and understand why she is a rare gem to have work for you and your dogs. I’m the luckiest dog owner to have found Kelly.

After each training session we wouldreceive videos from Kelly with what she worked on with Teddy. Thevideos demonstrate how the commands work and how we can practice withhim. These videos were extremely helpful. The commands were easy formy family to adopt and even my daughters took to them quickly . We welcomed our mini poodle, Louie, to our family at just 10 weeks old. He is our first pet that does not live in a fish tank, so our children (9, 4, 1.5) have been very excited, curious and anxious at different times. Thankfully, we were fortunate enough to have been working with Kelly from the moment Louie arrived. For these first 3 mos, she has been successfully teaching Louie obedience techniques while creating a playful yet safe environment for our young children. The family loves learning and practicing the tools that Kelly has individually instructed so everyone is part of the process. She has made the transition to puppy owner as smooth as can be imagined. She is reliable, knowledgeable and extremely thoughtful. And perhaps most importantly, Louie absolutely adores Kelly. Would never want to do this without her!
